Book #2 from the series: Calek's Tale

Calek’s Tale Book Two - The Mainland

About

After fleeing the island on the northern Great Lakes where he was born and raised, 12 year old Calek finds himself on The Mainland for the first time. He discovers that he has been lied to, and that the Old World is far different than he’d been told.

There are still Forsaken there, drooling, mindless monsters that have haunted his nightmares ever since he was a toddler. But there are also people that are not Forsaken and they believe something very different than what he has been taught all his life by Hezekiah, the Spiritual Leader of the island. Calek is torn between what he used to believe and what he now sees with his own eyes.

Book Two is a fast-paced tale where Calek is caught up in a whirlwind of new ideas, fascinating discoveries, gut-wrenching conflicts, and a wealth of new characters. And, just like in Book One, his very life is at stake...

This is an excellent continuation of the exciting story in the first book. If you haven't read it, buy it now.

Calek encounters even more evidence that causes the beliefs he was taught from birth to unravel. He begins to understand that the descriptions of the Forsaken, the so-called monstrous creatures he has feared from birth, are not as terrifying as he had been taught. The continuing adventures of Calek will keep you as spellbound as those of the first novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars The adventure continues!

After a frightening exit from the home he's always known, Calek is now on the mainland - on his own and not knowing what to expect or how to make his way in this new reality. As he finds his way, you worry about his safety and wonder how he will survive in such different circumstances than he's ever known. It keeps you not wanting to put the book down. A good read.
