Europa Nightmare (Jupiter Saga, #1)
About
390 million miles from Earth, their lives became a living terror.
In the farthest reach of mankind’s space colonization, near Jupiter’s moons, the crew of the frigate Simpson is in a fight for their lives. A veteran captain must find a way to survive against the horror of a long-lost freighter infested with an alien vanguard force, invading Earth’s solar system.
Europa Nightmare is the first book in Wayne Faust and Charles Eugene Anderson’s Jupiter Saga, a brand new, military sci-fi horror space opera. If you liked Alien, The Thing, and the Expanses, then you’ll love this face-paced, captivating, richly populated - dark science fiction.
Praise for this book

Very good. I'm ordinarily not a big fan of science fiction but I've been reading Wayne's stories and books for years and am never disappointed. The characters are believable - the situation is intense and the ending is good. (I cannot stand endings that leave you hanging or don't seem to "fit" the rest of the story!) Can't wait to read the next one.

A really good ,well paced story. It keeps you wondering how things will work out. Since it's told from several different peoples perspective, most don't know of the others, it's interesting putting the puzzle together.

A Sci-Fi Nightmare Arrives At Europa With Chilling Affect!

This review is on Europa Nightmare: Dark Curtin Saga by Wayne Faust and Charles Eugene Anderson. I read this story as part of a Box Set called Death Before Defeat from BundleRabbit. It is one of 10 Sci-Fi stories written by different authors. This story begins with a distinctly Viking oriented tone. The names, personalities and dialog all revolve around several Scandinavian characters. Erik Juergenson is the first person we meet on his supply ship named Skalbagge. He likes to “talk” to his ship’s computer named Inge in a very seductive manner.
Erik is sent by Europa Station, a Swedish colony near Jupiter, to investigate another much bigger ship called the Campbell, which is behaving erratically. As Erik approaches he loses power without explanation and must control his ship manually before docking.
The Campbell was sent on a mysterious journey six years ago to the space beyond Saturn. It was on its way home when it began operating radically. Its crew was unresponsive to calls from Europa. Erik docked with the ship, but all his ship and suit controls stopped working. In the dark Erik heard a strange sound coming from the airlock and things get a lot worse from there.
Other ships approach the Campbell and the mystery of what is happening aboard the Campbell starts to unfold. It builds quickly throughout the story. More characters are introduced that eventually tie directly to the Campbell’s misfortune. It becomes clear that what is discovered on the Campbell could jeopardize the future of the human race. The ships original owner wants to salvage what is onboard the ship before anyone else learns its true secret.
I give this book Five Stars because the story is interesting, builds in intensity, is action oriented and fast paced. The characters are multifaceted and their actions believable. The plot moves quickly from scene to scene. The action scenes are suspenseful and scary. The writing and dialogue are excellent. I especially liked the interactions between the main characters in the book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it arrives to see what happens.
